A Studio Day at Curate Roanoke

Some sessions just call for a cozy, calm space, and Curate Roanoke was exactly that. It's a bright studio right in Downtown Roanoke, and I got to photograph a mom and daughter session and a family session here. Both felt so easy and so sweet.

A Mom and Daughter Session

This one was all about the two of them. We kept things simple and let them just be together. A little laughing, a lot of hugging, and plenty of real moments in between.

Mom and daughter sessions are some of my favorites. Those photos end up meaning so much later on.

A Family Session

The family session was just as fun. We moved around the space, mixed up the poses, and let everyone be themselves. Kids wiggled, parents laughed, and that's exactly how it should go.

A studio gives families room to breathe, and the soft light does so much of the work for me.

A Little Bit About Curate Roanoke

Curate was started by Heather and Taylor, two local photographers who wanted a studio that feels pretty but not stuffy. You can tell they thought about every detail, especially the light.

It's the kind of space where people relax the second they walk in, and honestly, that makes my job so much easier.
